Born in Busselton, Western Australia, Sarah Francis is a performer, theatre maker, movement artist and facilitator whose practice moves across dance, physical theatre, clown and live performance. Sarah trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) in 2019, and has since worked across theatre, dance, touring and community arts throughout Australia. Her performance credits include Colossus by Stephanie Lake at Perth Festival, FLOW by Chrissie Parrott, ALL IN with Dance Makers Collective at Sydney Festival, and Terra Nullius EMBODIED with Selfless Orchestra. She has also toured nationally as Assistant Director and Production Manager for Smile: The Story of Charlie Chaplin. Alongside her performance practice, Sarah creates original work. In 2024, she developed and performed WILD LIFEthrough KickstART Festival, supported by Propel Youth Arts and pvi collective. In 2025, she trained at École Philippe Gaulier's Clown School in France and premiered her original solo work, Psycho or Psychic, which has since toured through Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle and Melbourne. Drawing from lived experience, Sarah's work is interested in movement, humility, playfulness and human nature. As an artist from regional Western Australia, she continues to develop work that connects lived experience with audiences across regional, national and international contexts.
